October 10, 2018

IVCA congratulates this year's IVCA Awardees who will be honored at the Annual Awards Dinner on December 3rd!

2018 Richard J. Daley Award which acknowledges a single individual who has given direct and extraordinary support to the State of Illinois by participating in or being an advocate for the venture capital and private equity industry is awarded to:

Christopher B. Galvin, Harrison Street Capital LLC
Chris Galvin is one of our region’s most accomplished investors and business executives and has an outstanding record of public and philanthropic leadership in our region and nationally.
2018 Fellows Award which recognizes individuals for their outstanding contributions to the private equity profession and to the Illinois Venture Capital Association is awarded to:

Walter Florence has been a member of the IVCA Board of Directors since 2005 and has served as Vice Chairman and more recently as IVCA Chairman. His service to IVCA included membership on multiple committee.
Probably most importantly, and his most lasting impact at IVCA will be his commitment to creating more gender and racial diversity in our industry.
Walter’s commitment to creating diversity in our industry is hard to overstate.  Walter established an event to help fund his family foundation: A Good Walk Spoiled Foundation, so that it could provide a grant to IVCA’s Scholar Program.
