TDA III MOVES AHEAD

IVCA is working closely with the Illinois Treasurer to advance SB 3205 to make improvements to the Technology Development Account and the investments made by the Treasurer’s office to create technology jobs and economic activity in Illinois.  The bill is sponsored by Illinois State Senator Don Harmon and is being heard in the Illinois Senate Committee on Commerce and Economic Development on Thursday, April 12.  We are hopeful the success of the TDA program will be recognized on a bipartisan basis and that there will be strong support for the bill.  You may view the bill and follow its progress here:

GOVERNOR CALLS LEADERS MEETING; LEADERS AGREE TO ATTEND

Watch for more news on the meeting which Governor Rauner has called for Thursday of this week with the four legislative leaders of the General Assembly.  This is the first time the leaders and the Governor have meet in quite some time, and certainly the first meeting after the March primary elections.  The governor has indicated an interest in having the legislature send him a balanced budget which he can sign, and there has also been discussion of a capital bill.  Whether the icy relationship between the legislature and the executive can thaw enough for an agreement is very much an open question.
